It has a good premise and it looks great, but it didn't do all that much with it. You've got a corporation using labor that is demanding and traumatic and you just... never interrogate that? We never get an idea of who the two main characters actually are. And for me that's one of the big things about a high concept story: is there an actual story here or is it just the concept? This time I think it's more the latter, but I'm not sure it's intended to be much more than proof that Cronenberg is good at this and it does accomplish that goal.
