Well. I've finally gotten around to watching 2001: A Space Odyssey. And I've got a few things to say about it, so sit down and listen.
This film is spectacular. It really, truly is. It's over 45 years old and doesn't really seem like it at all. There's some fantastic visuals, the cinematography in the futuristic scenes is amazing, and the whole thing looks timeless. The entire. damn. thing. is timeless.
The soundtrack - classical music - is a very, very, interesting choice, it's bizzare, and it's brilliant, and holy crap, I love every inch of it.
The narrative is pretty thin, very stretched throughout the entirety, but that doesn't bother me here.
Kubrick: you did everything right here. Good job.
