'Taken,' but with actual characters and less throat punching.
A passable thriller. I expected much more from this movie, especially with it being a Roman Polanski picture. It's not bad by any means. It just doesn't do much that's all that interesting. 2/3 of the film is pretty solid and standard thriller fare, but the last third tapers off, with a pretty meh conclusion.
With that said and despite the lack of expected action, the movie definitely has some solid performances. And by performances, I just mean Harrison Ford. Ford does a good job capturing the character's confusion and anger, trying to find his wife in a city that's completely foreign to him. Besides that and a few interesting shots, that's really all the movie has going for it.
