Time for our now annual family holiday tradition where I watch this with my daughter and we flip off the television and boo heartily when Donald Trump appears on-screen.

Black Christmas 2006
One could make the case that one of the best things about the original Black Christmas is that we never learn ANYTHING about the killer. It makes things so random and scary.
They decide to go in the exact opposite direction in this reboot and we learn a little too much about Billy Lentz and his gross family for my liking.
That said this movie is still fun, extremely gruesome, and super DUPER into doing awful things to eyeballs.

Christian Slater (at his most Jack Nicholson-y) falls in love with a delightful Patricia Arquette, gets possessed by the ghost of Elvis, and partners with Michael Rappaport and Bronson Pinchot to move some blow.
And Gary Oldman is around for a hot minute as a character so insane I can't even describe it.
Oh and Christopher Walken randomly shows up to have a crazy well-acted (and crazy racist) scene with Dennis Hopper.

Sick today so why not use the downtime to launch into a month of seasonal horror?
Starting out with the G.O.A.T. for that particular subgenre and it remains glorious.
The garbled psycho speak of the killer is genuinely creepy, John Saxon is the only cop I'd ever trust (besides Robocop), and Margot Kidder remains a damn treasure.
