Jim Ray’s review published on Letterboxd:
One of the (many) miracles that makes this film a masterpiece is how much Miller trusts us. How he refuses to tell, let alone explain.
Imagine just about any of the pieces of this movie in the hands of a merely competent director, let alone any of the dime a dozens that get called in to piece together whatever franchise is due next.
MAX (NARRATION): The War Boys called it “chrome”. Inhaling it directly into their lungs was lethal but they didn’t pay mind. The high would send them off to Valhalla, the promised land, in glory same as the fuel they injected straight into the engines of their war rigs.
Or some shit like that.
Thank you, George Miller, for treating us with decency.
