    Man with a Movie Camera

    ★★★★★

A Man With A Movie Camera is a breath of fresh air in an industry that is cluttered with subpar contributions. When I tell you this film had me in it's grips from start to end, I truly mean it. The last time a film utterly enveloped me was with Andrei Tarkovsky's magnum opus Stalker. That is what's so spectacular about film and art in general. You can get similar experiences from pieces of work that are drastically different with…

A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night

    ★★★

Going into this film I had no idea what to expect with this being my first experience with this director. With that being said I must say this film was really hit or miss for me there were parts that I really liked and parts I didn’t like as much. Most of the flaws I had with the film takes place during the first 45 minutes or so of this film where I found it to be unfocused, and a…

  • Angst

    Angst

    ★★★★½

Angst is quite possibly the most disturbing viewing experiences I’ve had so far in my film going journey. I would like to say that it is a meticulously crafted story but it just isn’t it feels very erratic and thrown together which doesn’t sound like a good thing but I assure you that it is. The way the story is just thrown together only adds to the realism that Gerald Kargl already achieves with the way it is shot and…

    “I’M NOT CRAZY, I JUST DON’T GIVE A FUCK”

Oh how I wish I grew up watching this film I feel like I would love it even more, that’s not to say that I don’t already do because I truly do. The film takes us on a exhilarating ride and doesn’t stop for even a second. Surprisingly the film made me feel very cozy if that makes sense it’s just a very cozy and fun film. I will definitely be watching this multiple times in the near future. (everyone should watch this it’s completely free on Tubi definitely check it out.)

  • House on Haunted Hill

    House on Haunted Hill

    ★★★

This movie was an absolute blast to watch. It gives me everything I want in a classic horror movie it’s so goofy and just so much fun to watch. Although for having such a short run time it seems to drag a bit and feels way longer than it actually is. Nonetheless I could not recommend this movie more it’s such a great viewing experience I love it.

  • The Hills Have Eyes

    The Hills Have Eyes

    ★★

Going into this film I was admittedly pretty excited to see a Wes Craven film I haven’t seen before and honestly I was a bit underwhelmed. I found the film to be very goofy and I could not take any of it seriously I have no problem with goofy, or even cheesy horror movies as long as I’m still having fun watching it like with the Friday the 13th franchise but this movie felt like a chore to watch. However,…

  • Psycho

    Psycho

    ★★★★

This was not only my first time watching the classic horror flick psycho but it’s also the first Alfred Hitchcock film I’ve seen. I must say I was very impressed and not a bit let down considering the sheer amount of hype this movie receives. Technically speaking the film is flawless and looks absolutely gorgeous. Even just the opening credit scene pulled me in immediately. The story is where I can see people not enjoying it as much considering how…

  • A Ghost Story

    A Ghost Story

    ★★★★

A ghost story is a very enticing almost hypnotic viewing experience. Some scenes were just so visually stunning i was in absolute awe by the sheer craftsmanship of it all. My only real gripe with the film would be a monologue one of the character gives where they essentially spoon feed us what the meaning of the whole film instead of letting the viewer interpret it for ourselves.

  • George Washington

    George Washington

    ★★★★

George Washington is a very interesting film that theoretically shouldn’t work as well as it does. The film has some truly horrible performances and relies heavily on telling instead of showing which normally would ruin a film however it didn’t really bother me all that much because of the tone the film achieves. The whole film has a rather charming tone and you can really tell David Green put his heart and soul into the film. A big flaw the…

  • Wendy and Lucy

    Wendy and Lucy

    ★★★★

Wendy and Lucy really blindsided me by how heartfelt it was. The film has an extreme sense of humanity which is what makes it so lovable and at times very depressing. I really felt like i was was with Wendy watching her go through all of the trials and tribulations the world throws at her which is a really rare thing that not a lot of films accomplish. Also fuck Andy.
