"...a cruel god ain't no god at all"
Honest without ever veering into shameless sentiment, this is a beautiful (albeit utterly devastating) account of illness/friendship/sex/death. That this has existed in the shadows for 30+ years says a lot about how far we - and the film industry - have to go in not only telling LGBTQ+ stories but in how we document something as crippling to a people as AIDS.
We all owe a debt to Vinegar Syndrome for pulling this one back out and making it as accessible as possible.
