john lichman’s review published on Letterboxd :
I forgot (until looking at the Letterboxd image) this was a Tartan video back when it had a DVD release in the early aughts.
Here The Woman (Amira Casar) meets The Man (Rocco Siffredi) and, after being saved from an attempted suicide, pays The Man to spend four nights watching her and understanding women. The Man, who is gay, reluctantly agrees and is given a crash course in femininity, masculine gaze, objectification and other branching points that Catherine Breillat explores in this "sequel" to her 1999 film Romance.
Ironically in his own self-titled documentary released a few years ago, Siffredi won't discuss his work with Breillat even though his own on-screen sex work is the antithesis of a lot of her points in these films.
