The Talented Mr. Ripley ★★★★

Fascinating how he basically gets away with everything by the end, but is tripped up by his original sin of pretending to be somebody he wasn’t back when he arrived and talked with Cate Blanchett. He didn’t have to give the Greenleaf identity, and in fact he had to talk his way around it, but he wanted to be something more and impress her. That on the spot exercise in vanity ended up costing him dearly.
