    Dungeons & Dragons & Dads.

It's nice to see Disney/Pixar flip the script on the oft-covered sisterly dynamic and deliver a heartfelt, buddy bro movie that doesn't play into too many stereotypes.

The first trailers had me nervous that the animation skewed a little too Dreamworks, but you quickly get sucked into its style. Colors pop, landscapes look incredibly realistic, and many of the small details (Barley's stubble, Ian's barely noticeable peach fuzz, the sweatshirt holding the dad together) look so good…

Fun. Fierce. Feminine. I felt the pain Harley did over losing that breakfast sandwich.

A unique, intricately woven tale of depression, feminism, lesbianism, and introspective glances. It's the film equivalent of staring out a rain-dotted window for a few hours. Meryl, Julianne, and Nicole were just giving it their all; I'd watch that trio emote in anything.

A harrowing, immersive journey through a day, week, and hour of a solider's life. Through Christopher Nolan's masterful filmmaking, it feels like you're holding your breath for 2 hours. I wish we could have focused more on the characters, but it's a small gripe. The wordless storytelling was at times brilliant, and the scream of the incoming bombers will stay with me for quite a while. Nolan truly is one of the finest directors around.
