Once you get past the initial lengthy voiceover, it turns into a pretty good movie! Also, absurd amount of product placement in this.

Loved the chemistry between the two leads, and the family dynamics were great. Movie hits some stumbling blocks with not just predictability, but also highly gendered roles for everyone, which includes the subservience and the meekness of the female lead. Love love love this movie. It’s more of an epic covering many months of time, but I love the chemistry between Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. I love the rude awakening to the elusive American dream. Cruise’s Irish accent got a little shaky, but it’s Tom Cruise. It works.
