• Confess, Fletch

    Confess, Fletch

A breezy and charming comedy with solid mystery plot and like 12 very engaging performances. Most notably Hamm, but Roy Wood Jr is great in a part that is mostly as a straight man, Marcia Gay Harden is a very fun Italian countess that escaped from House of Gucci, Ayden Mayeri steals a bunch of laughs while playing in scenes with bigger names, hell Eugene Mirman stops by for two scene performance that was very memorable. When people complain about we don’t get this type of movie anymore, this is the kind of thing we mean.

I know George H. Melford‘a Spanish has surpassed Browning in the eyes of most cinema fans, but this Bela Lugosi as Dracula in a movie called Dracula the man playing Dracula counts for a lot.

  • Elvis

    Elvis

In terms of story and theme it is a familiar bio-pic, in terms of style it other worldly.

    Honeyland

Reading the criticisms of this film on this app has never made me feel more like an alien.

Let’s talk about the Intimacy. A lot of people’s criticism boils down why did the filmmaker force the people to make different choices. Which I just don’t understand as a criticism. But I think…

  • Turning Red

    Turning Red

People need to talk more about how cute this movie is. Lots of talk about specificity and representation, which is all good. But it is real cute. It really embraced a more cartoony style than Pixar movies have in the past and I think for the best. It kind of reminds me of Genndy Tartakovsky.

Gavin O’Conner is the Martin Scorsese of mid-budget sports drama. Also Kurt Russell and Patricia Clarkson are the cutest couple.

  • Dave

    Dave

The news of Ivan Reitman death broke last night, in remembrance while others wax on about Ghostbuster, I will say Dave is charming fucking movie and deserving of more affection.
