Watched it a few times as a kid. Not sure if I ever liked it then, I sure didn't get single joke. Not expecting much I was quite surprised it's a pretty watchable movie. Some gags are poorly executed, but some work, and most of it is... pretty average for a comedy.
What a terrific movie.
Seeing this at 3.1 average here on Letterboxd and have overall rather mediocre ratings is quite a shocker for me. The acting, how the story was unfolded, the minimalistic sound design, the visuals - and more - made me feel very immersed in the story. Only in the second half it could have been maybe 5 or 10 minutes shorter, but seriously, that's all I can say negatively about it and I can't give it less than 4 1/2 stars.
Feels so underrated!
Feels slightly overpraised (the rating will go down with time. It's at 4.1 right now, I think it will fall down to 3.7 - 3.9 over the next few months).
