Besides the corny and unnecessary chapter titles and that weird arse Johnny Cash needledrop remix thing, this is a fucking masterstroke. Not a single bit of misplaced dialogue or beat that doesn't hit and some incredibly well directed and vicious action. The pacing is smooth as ice and the payoffs are exceptional within the tight two hour runtime, particularly during the third act. Jason Statham is a genuinely intimidating and dark presence and the escalation of his remorseless is incredibly interesting to witness and the rest of the cast are all extremely solid to boot. The Joker-aping score is also a welcome and fun addition to the whole concoction. One of my favourite films of the year and one of Guy Ritchie's best films.
