    Long live the king

A lot of sequels fail to capture what made the first movie great esp with a decade in between this movie isn't one of those. I laughed so hard at this. The chemistry between the orginal 4 was still there. Woody Harrelson is a gd treasure plus the goddess that is Emma Stone 😍😍😍
Luke Wilson and Rosario Dawson were also great. Go see this now!

  • The Street Fighter

    The Street Fighter

Maybe it was the dubs, maybe it's the flu that's ravaging me but this one didn't do anything for me and falls right in my wheelhouse with one dude being a bigger badass than the rest. I'll hafta revisit this later I think

  • Sympathy for Lady Vengeance

    Sympathy for Lady Vengeance

    ★★★★

Following the masterpiece that is Oldboy, Lady Vengeance just isn't quite there, don't get me wrong though, it's good, damn good.
There are some spots that maybe a second viewing would clarify at the beginning. The finale is still a big spectacle as expected and that closing sequence is just gorgeous. Def a must watch

    Dunkirk

    ★★★½

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

I think this movie would've benefited from going to see it in the cinema tbh, with all the big set pieces, explosions etc.
This movie is freaking gorgeous hands down but suffers from a weird disjointed time line and imo doesn't take its time to character build. I get that they're soldiers in this harrowing situation, trying to survive but other than the civilians on the boat there wasn't a whole lot of interactions, probably by design bc all these…

  • Hobo with a Shotgun

    Hobo with a Shotgun

    ★★★

This is a movie that never once tries to be serious. Schlocky, terrible dialogue, violent af, and over the top blood and gore and it mostly works, oh don't forget the hooker with the heart of gold! If you're into these kinda movies this one is sure to please

  • Joker

    Joker

    ★★★★½

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

So this movie was one I was apprehensive about when it was first announced, it released to critical and fan praise and I was still not quite sure what I was expecting.

It was dark, gritty, grimy and violent af. Which a movie where the main character is the Joker should be these things.
I found it really hard to tell the difference between Arthur's delusions and real life and while that was sometimes annoying it was a very nice…

  • Ready or Not

    Ready or Not

    ★★★½

Been waiting on this one for a bit. Love me some Samara Weaving(new favorite scream queen) and this one didn't disappoint. Good mixture of horror/suspense and comedy. Some good gore and blood. Few timing issues but nothing crazy. Def recommend if this is your thing!

    Rumble Fish

    ★★½

AJMCC Ep 15 Justin's pick from my list - letterboxd.com/joey_p/list/average-joes-movie-club-castjoeys-top-10/

    B&W film

The cinematography was great but ofc it was. The beta fish (rumble fish) pop in color to contrast the black and white.
There's a cool scene between Rusty James(Matt Dillon) and Smokey(Nic Cage) where Smokey essentially tells Rusty James to fuck off and that's where my positivity for this ends

    Characters- awful. Dialogue - awful
    Plot - lols
Why in the fuck was the sewer on fire?
    Why…

  • Mission: Impossible II

    Mission: Impossible II

Balls to the wall the whole time and I loved it! Thandie Newton was smoking hot and Tom Cruise played the cocky asshole to a tee.
John Woo with some great shots. I enjoyed this one a lot

"I don't sound that much like Peter Griffin"

As soon as I saw effin Mila Kunis I was in! 😍😍😍
In all reality a long episode of Family Guy but back when it was still a good show plus again Mila effin Kunis! The second time or at least the 2nd movie that I've seen with both Markie Mark and Mila Kunis and it's leagues better than the first(Max Payne)
Some good comedy and some good bs romance. Give it watch! Also did I say Mila Kunis

How in the hell have I not seen this before?
Totally fucking 80s, soundtrack bangs and ofc the insanely famous scene of phoebe cates. Judge Reinhold looking like Jason Segal's dad. Highly recommend
