Joey’s review published on Letterboxd:
As a fan of Whiplash, I was looking forward to this release. Though, I discovered that this is so much more than just a film about a drummer. The passionate filmmaking and acting left me totally speechless. And that sound design was fucking incredible!!!!
The story made me realize how dependent we are of sound to communicate, but also showed me the way the deaf community adapts by not thinking of it as a disability. In a strange way the loss of hearing made Ruben change his view of the world.
Also, I like this title a lot, but I figured Sound of Silence would’ve worked too. Maybe even better.
