Thor: The Dark World 2013
Ever watch a film that’s feels like nobody actually wanted to make it?.. apart from some Disney shareholders.

Supergirl 1984
That music gets a star. My sister would rent this when I wanted Superman III. Vivid horrific childhood memories of the creature lurking in the mirror and the Forbidden Planet ‘id’. Dark, dark kids film.
Some god awful exposition. O’ Toole and Cook are painful. Dunaway and Vaccaro making the best in some odd precursor to Witches of Eastwick. The school stuff is cringy specially Lucy Lane. Super G to be in costume and match ready 15 mins... For a 2 hour film she doesn’t do very much outside a few set pieces and fighting over a stoned landscape gardner.

Godzilla 2014
It looks the part but feels so remote in 2018. Set pieces and action feel behind glass disengaged from what’s at stake. He’s an astonishing visual director, but that ‘actors’ problem Edwards has is still here like Rogue One. I sat here on Saturday night wanting to watch MONSTERS instead. Strangley his debut through limited budget is a human, character driven story.

The Cloverfield Paradox 2018
Listen, didn’t think it was that bad. Serviceable TV movie. The God Particle concept can be done better. This never felt fit for box office. Looked like it was purely designed for Netflix. Sunshine bulkhead interiors on a budget.
It’s only real crime was robbing us of endless possibilities of proper Planet of the Apes mental ending, which is what it felt like it was bubbling up to, aspose to a validation of Cloverfield themes.
