    Still beautiful fetishistic imagery. Viewed in a crimson red decor of a 1900 cinema. Like the whole audience was in Dorothy's apartment and we were all in Frank Booth's grip. Looked on in quiet horror and sometimes nervous laughter.

    Still loose my shit at the Pabst Blue Ribbon scene.

    This is The Mercenary 2.0. I actually prefer it to Corbucci's earlier offering. Its pacing feels bit tighter, it doesn't ape Good the Bad and Ugly as much. You can see the light and humour coming into these films opening the way for Terence Hill films of the early 70s. The three protagonist are almost caricatures of earlier film. Nero and Palance are hamming it up. Palance a one handed refer smoking bounty killer with a pet falcon called Marsha. Milan works better in the Mexican role than Tony Musante for me. That COMPANEROS! Morricone theme tune is astonishing bit of orchestral pop.

    Probably the one that helped crystallize the Zapata Western subgenre. Mainly down to its strong story. Good balance of action and character development. Its actually hardly a Spaghetti Western big sweeping set pieces like the Train ambush. Maybe in the use of the golden bullet by the foreigner. Its was imitated endlessly between 66-75* rarely topped.

    Greatest dismemberment show on earth.
    Still manages to be funny and smart after the cult of Ash with its quotable lines, sequels, toys and tv shows. Its only problem? It leaves the predecessor 81's Evil Dead almost unwatchable overlong and even pretentious in comparison.

    It was like watching Robocop for the first time when I was 13. Nothing makes you feel like that anymore. Bouncing up and down in my cinema seat I was. Hopes and Dreams. Gets that punk ethic of early 80s Brit comics. Alex Garland described 2000AD as your parents buying you a 18cert video nasty hidden in the trappings of a Saturday morning comic weekly.. Dredd in good hands.

    It gets a half star knocked off for not going with Geoff Barrow and Ben Salisbury original concept Carpenter-Esque synth soundtrack. Which would just made this film completely deadly.

    Documentary film about Eugene Cernan. NASA Apollo program astronaut on Apollo 10 & 17. Beautiful visuals outside of great use of archives footage. Added advantage of using CGI to recreate mission external shots. Great editing and sound design and music.  A nice companion piece to Al Reinert's For All Mankind. Beauty and awe not jingoism.
