Richard Cross’s review published on Letterboxd:
Wilcox and Neagle's follow-up to Nell Gwynn fails to expand on that film's success, and feels a little rushed due to its brisk running time. Neagle gives a spirited performance as Peg Woffingto, the 18th Century Irish actress and lover of legendary thespian David Garrick - a far more reserved performance from Cedric Hardwicke. Diverting enough without ever really immersing the audience in the story or period. A young Jack Hawkins appears as Peg's feckless Irish ex-lover.
