This is the kind of delicate, delicate film that is unadorned and without filters to show a desolate world, in this case a sad boy in a dreary environment who is somehow not at ease with the world and then meets a pedophile who cannot break him. It's exciting, disturbing and played great - but not suitable for the masses and certainly not something you watch on a relaxed evening TV.
"Loneliness has followed me my whole life, everywhere. In bars, in cars, sidewalks, stores, everywhere. There's no escape. I'm God's lonely man.”
Taxi Driver is the ultimate character piece. A man so mistaken within society who desperately grasp for purpose and relevancy. From the second we see the horrible events he had witnessed, we watch this normal civilian slowly develop into a psychopathic menace with a deranged set of morals.
Overall watching this movie was a surreal experience.…
