Romance in movies has always been frowned upon by the film community. Mainly because of the fact that they are generic, cliched, melodramatic and flat out lazy. However, there can be some that I mainly have a soft spot for: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Punch Drunk Love, Her, Moonrise Kingdom, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, (500) Days of Summer and among others. I cherish these movies just because of how much I think effected me as a person. But, I haven't seen this much mastery than Richard Linklater's Before Trilogy and how much they have impacted my life.

To get a bit personal, my grandparents were the people that introduced me to film at a young age, my grandpa showed me classics like Taxi Driver and Goodfellas at a young age, while my grandma showed me Sound of Music and Wizard of Oz. I was fascinated by film, ever since then it has been my passion, if you know me you know how much I love this artform. They truly were my role models. I say "were" because in the past couple of years my grandma passed away from cancer and my grandpa passed away a year or two later. I'm not asking to sympathize with me, don't worry I am okay and celebrate both their lives while cry at the last things they have said to me. Anyway the reason why I am saying this is because my grandparents reminded me very much of Jesse and Celine, both had beautiful chemistry with one another and always were very wise and insightful and hardworking people. People that would encourage one another to do bigger and better things and push each other, just like Jesse and Celine. Just like Jesse and Celine, they did not show their love that often, but when they did they truly meant it. While yes, they did fight every so often to the point where a divorce bomb could explode, they knew they could be together. While they don't have the same mannerisms, I can see my grandpa as Ethan Hawke's Jesse. As much as I would have loved for them to meet on a train and my grandpa asking my grandma to explore Vienna, they were normal people. They both tried everything to do to make themselves happy without dumping it on each other, just like Jesse did with Celine about his son.

The Before Trilogy has taught me not only valuable lessons on writing a romance and creating pitch perfect chemistry. The trilogy also taught me how much film could remind me of people in my life. People that have done great things in the world just like the characters on screen. I cannot thank my grandparents enough for giving me my passion for film, without them I don't know what I would do. They truly pushed me to write these reviews and continue to do so and love every minute of it. I would also like to thank Richard Linklater due to the perfect portrayal of the romance of the people that meant the most to me, never would I think that a trilogy would break my heart and laugh as much as this one and remind me that romance can be cute and fun and spontaneous while also being messy and unexpected. Thank You Richard Linklater for making my favorite trilogy.

So yeah, this film is fantastic. I love this trilogy due to its writing and excellent performances along with pitch perfect camera work and chemistry between two leads. A perfect conclusion to a all around perfect trilogy
