Musical yakuza action-packed ripper - are you kidding me! There’s brawling in the burlesque house while beams of saturated red gun blasts coat a frozen Tokyo wonderland. The scene where the Tokyo Drifter sings his theme song on the way to square off with an entire warehouse of gangsters is one of the coolest things I have ever seen.

A bewildered Brosnahan and her son traverse decrepit backwoods, blood-soaked nightclubs, and the neon-saturated city streets of an unnamed metropolis. The action that follows a goon telling her “this can all be over” hit so hard. Would love to see more neo-noir films take such a subversive approach to storytelling.
