A heartwarming fairytale edition of the Sex Pistols story that exceeds expectations.

So many true-life stories and films that feature punks are understandably rough, gritty, and depressing. This really captures the jubilant party spirit of a group of punks with the uncontrollable urge to play loud music regardless of the circumstance.

    Tokyo Drifter

Setting out, drifting on and on
Till all memories of Tokyo are gone.
Don’t cry for me, night rain
A man’s life ends in bloody red
    I’m the Tokyo Drifter

Musical yakuza action-packed ripper - are you kidding me! There’s brawling in the burlesque house while beams of saturated red gun blasts coat a frozen Tokyo wonderland. The scene where the Tokyo Drifter sings his theme song on the way to square off with an entire warehouse of gangsters is one of the coolest things I have ever seen.

There are a lot of films that try very hard to capture the nuances of being a bored teenager with nothing to do but cover your favorite punk songs.

Linda Linda Linda effortlessly dives into those doldrums and coats them in warm fuzz soaked garage jams.

A bewildered Brosnahan and her son traverse decrepit backwoods, blood-soaked nightclubs, and the neon-saturated city streets of an unnamed metropolis. The action that follows a goon telling her “this can all be over” hit so hard. Would love to see more neo-noir films take such a subversive approach to storytelling.
