Enemy of the State ★★★½

Enemy of the State is a great modern take on the paranoia thrillers of the 70s. In fact, it's almost a conscious follow-on to Coppola's The Conversation. Watch the two back-to-back and it's almost seamless. It's also got some brilliant directorial flourishes, like the ending, which is pure Tony Scott. I just wish it didn't have that scene where the technicians magically rotate the camera angle from a fixed CCTV camera by 90 degrees and 'enhance, enhance'. But then again, I'm a huge nerd and this is one of my major bugbears. Other than that, a solid, entertaining thriller.
