This is not a film but more of an exhibition. The word ‘film’ is tired, and moored to a particular thing that we all collectively understand. A thing many people band together to create -- almost always with many, many others - perhaps to write then hand off, to collaborate on with a team, or act in for a scene then leave — an end-product we all know is coming, in the form of 3 acts and a credit roll.…
I'm a sucker for seeing a movie and as the movie goes along, I slowly realize that I'm watching a new favorite movie.
Ant Timpson showing wild chops here, and I will be very surprised if he doesn't quickly land himself into the chair of some big movies in the near.
Come To Daddy hits all the perfect notes for me... remote location, dark emotion, strictly real humans-story (no belief suspension required), humor, violent/gore, acting (everyone whips), dialog, writing, all of it was screamingly great.
