Punishment Park ★★★★

One of the most viscerally hard-hitting films I've ever seen. There are few moments in which the concept was more interesting than its aesthetic executions but hey, I was genuinely horrified to my bones throughout its entirety. An unbearably nightmarish (largely because it feels so "realistic," and actually turned out to be true to reality in the past 3 years) depiction of casual fascism gone haywire; a razor-sharp exploration of the mechanisms of police brutality and the psychology of contempt for the poor: kill kill kill kill kill the poor (and all the non-fascists).
