My immediate ramblings after finishing this:
I should probably have my cinephile card revoked for not having seen this sooner. I absolutely adore Malick's Badlands, and while I'm lukewarm on the latter part of his career I still consider him one of the greats.
This turn of the century fever dream is absolutely astounding. There isn't a frame out of place and absolutely nothing feels forced.
Though Days of Heaven has a more traditional narrative structure that doesn't really matter…
