    After a (typical of the time period) shower scene opening we open with our first of the 3 protagonists has a typical phone conversation with her worried mother as she prepares to meet up with her two friends and drive to a rock concert.     Cool little meta film from before that was even a thing. It’s a shame that the distribution was problematic and this didn’t get a release. Smart little horror flick. It’s not the scariest and far from the bloodiest but Effects kept my attention even if it did drag in parts

    Wow! The Descent is one spine tingling on-the-edge-of-your-seat subterranean horror thriller. 6 beautiful ladies (one of which has recently went through a personal tragedy) go exploring a cave which noone else has ever discovered. Once they're down there they realize they're not alone. No more setup is necessary. If you are claustrophobic this is NOT the movie for you, I've personally never had a problem with tight spaces but this movie freaked me out it was almost like I couldn't even breathe. Tense nailbiter not for the faint of heart.

    This classic just turned 41 yesterday & is still as shocking and revolting as ever. Definitely a turning point for horror cinema history. It really still holds up well, its one of the films that scared me as a kid (especially being one living in the Lone Star State!!) & still does.
