Empire of Light 2022
Some good ideas but the movie just didn’t gel.
If you want to watch a movie about the love of film watch Cinema Paradiso instead.

Roald Dahl's Matilda the Musical 2022
I gave this a chance because of my nostalgia for the Devito version and good word of mouth of the Broadway musical.
It’s a sickly sweet musical with unmemorable songs with just Revolting Children being the stand out. I also didn’t like the changes that have been made to the story with the inclusion of the librarian.
Plus points would be Emma Thompson who is a fantastic Trunchball. Scary, intimidating and funny up there with the Pam Ferris version.
If you want to watch a Matilda movie just stick with the Danny Devito version.

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore 2022
Better than the second movie but that’s not saying much.

West Side Story 2021
I just don’t understand why this needed to be remade.
If Steven Spielberg wanted to do a musical I wish he had done something new.

Spider-Man 3 2007
Way too many villains with James Franco’s Green Goblin being the worst. After the amazing job of building up to Franco becoming Green Goblin in Spider-man 2 it was a huge letdown in the third movie. Rubbish costume, poor performance and a weird amnesia storyline ruined the character.

Candyman 2021
The sections with the Candyman was great. Scary and intimidating but everything was quite poor. The forced in Social Justice elements did not work.
Uninteresting characters with terrible dialogue and cringeworthy acting that was tough to watch.
The flashing in the third act nearly blinded me.
I would not recommend this. ☹️

The Holy Mountain 1973
I thought it was absolutely disgusting!
I really wanted to like it but I fucking hated it!

Home Alone 3 1997
Home alone 3 was one of those movies that I loved as a child. But now as an adult I see just how ridiculous the plot is. (Why didn’t the criminals just go around to all the houses asking If they had the toy car?)

The Holiday 2006
Very Hit and Miss. The parts with Jude Law and Cameron Diaz show their great chemistry together. But Kate Winslet and Jack Black parts just didn’t work for me.
