Dave’s review published on Letterboxd:
Lee attacks one of the oldest institutions in the United States with all the flavors he's got rolled up into one joint. We get the Denzel dolly shot, the rationalizing bigoted police, cultural clashes and class wars shrouded in smoke behind heist genre trappings. Capital and status are essential to every facet in the film, but the pawns all have different motivations for each depending on where in the game they want to stay. Hollywood has rarely made America's financial and economic history look so sinister.
