JonasWeaver’s review published on Letterboxd:
It's actually kind of cool to see the ways in which this film parallels Verbinski's earlier work in narrative structure, characters. Mix in the emphasis on the story of the oppressed/the outsiders in society. Think it's fair to say Verbinski is a director of otherness and trying to become other through film. Does he succeed? If one's sympathies are with Tonto and Jack Sparrow, I think so.
