    Very, very surprised by this film. This film was heavily boycotted by parents and religious parties, and honestly??? I think I agree with them all. This story is fucked. Painting the image of Santa Claus with a deeply violent influence is something that would have terrified me as a child. It's affective in all the worst ways. A young eight year old boy witnessing the brutal murder of his parents, meanwhile his first images of sex come from Santa Claus…

    There's no surprise here. It's big, dumb, ridiculous fun. Exactly what you'd expect from a movie about giant monsters. I didn't think I'd ever want to know the lore behind why Kong is called King, but here we are. This is the exact type of stupid fun I missed most about going to the theaters.
