Jordan Pickens’s review published on Letterboxd:
I may be in the minority here but Day Of The Dead is my favorite of Romero’s original Dead Trilogy. I didn’t realize this until watching them all within a weeks time. The acting is extremely strong and plays out as an amazing drama on top of a gore-horror spectacle.
I really love the mad scientist story here. I would love to see Dr. Logan and Dr. West have their own Zombie/Re-Animator spin off story... I can dream.
The musics pretty different in this one. On top of the standard horror synth sound there is a lot of added Caribbean sounds. I really dig the mash up of music and assume they went with this based off the Florida setting.
Bub is my new hero. He’s the most human character in the whole flick
