Just a cool, mo' fucking concept. It's deep without feeling overwhelming. You can understand everything in one viewing, but still warrants multiple re-watches. It's hard not to think of small plot details from The Matrix or Inception while watching this, but it takes those little details of "plugging in" and swings them in a totally different direction and makes for a much more personal story. I love when someone can pull off high-concept Sci-fi on a small level and budget.
For all you gore-hounds out there, there are plenty of excellent practically done kills and violence. It actually stuck with me and made me a little squeamish at times.
I'm stoked there's another Cronenberg out here doing some interesting shit! Can't wait to see what he's up to next.
