Jordan Pickens’s review published on Letterboxd:
Hands down my favorite slasher film of the last three decades. I would honestly pair this up with any of the great slashers of the late 70's & early 80's. It's all style and gruesome substance. I love the synth-pop kills, stalking with truck, straight ahead approach and eventual revenge. I'll never get over that pool scene. It elevates my heartbeat every time and just feels like they turned this slasher into an art project. Even the sound design during that scene is perfect. The bobbing in an out of water is so natural and the sound goes perfectly with it.
If I'm popping this one in on Halloween night, you know it's become an all timer for me. It's truly a straight forward film, but it is done so well! Even when it borrows heavily from other genre staples, they do it with enough style and twists that I am all for it.
