Still don’t think this is getting enough credit. Missed a lot of shit so far but I have it at #4 for the year. There’s absolutely no fat on this bad boy, the performances are excellent, the emotions are real and never stultify the gator momentum, lacks comic relief but isn’t humorless, great colors despite being shot in a glum basement, and best of all, it ends immediately after the conflict has been vanquished rather than some “three months later...” bullshit. A miracle.
