I especially loved the historical accuracy
Bo Burnham is my favorite comedian because of his ability to adress sensitive issues and difficult topics. He sees who people are underneath the mask they reveal to the world, and his ability to convey that to the big screen has left me speechless. ‘Eight Grade’ manages to convey a completely realistic portrayal of what it’s like to be young, not just today, but years ago as well. It is heartwarming, hearbreaking and filled with so much hope and optimism for the future; just like middle school was. A fantastic film, truly, and an amazing directorial debut for Bo.
