Josef Rodriguez’s review published on Letterboxd:
Sue me, but I fucking loved this movie. I don't think this film will EVER get the props it deserves because 95% of comic fans are so trapped in a certain one-track mind when it comes to the depiction of their favorite characters, but I'm honestly a little hesitant to call this a superhero movie. Like The Dark Knight before it, BvS is about so so so much more. Just gonna post the Facebook status I ran to write after I saw it.
"Batman V Superman is so unabashedly weird, so fearlessly political - and occasionally downright impressionistic - that I'm not surprised everyone hates it, but it's head and shoulders above 90% of Marvel films and is going to be one of the most misunderstood films of this decade. It's a nihilistic, unforgiving, dystopian vision of the superhero philosophy."
It's just, like, gleefully imperfect. I wanna see it again.
