Someone has taken their love of sequels one step too far.
I really do love the Scream franchise and the metaness of it all but they do definitely try and point you into thinking it's the boyfriend again when we all know they wouldn't be that stupid to try and pull that off. The opening to this one, with the couple being murdered at a screening of a film based on the killings in the first film is just as horrific as the Drew Barrymore scenario in the first, setting the tone for a sequel that may not be as good as the first but still a wildly entertaining ride full of horrible deaths and just enough of a tongue-in-cheek nature to make you feel in safe hands with Wes Craven. The main trio of Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette are some of the luckiest sons of bitches we've ever had in the horror genre, Arquette's Dewey in particular after his 4th or 5th stabbing of the series.
