Frances Ha ★★★★

I went into Frances Ha desperate to hate it and expected more pretension than a self-aware Lena Dunham biography. Instead my pants were well and truly charmed off. Greta Gerwig completely mesmerises for the entire running time, and Baumbach never loses pace in the film, even in the uncertainty of the third act. It is somewhat saddening that Gerwig has chosen to join as suspiciously poor spin-off TV sitcom, as anyone who sees this film would surely love to see more of her (like this).
