Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)

Female supremacy is very fucking real. It’s so easy to tell how liberated this movie is from the male gaze and how much better everything is presented because of it. This is a movie made by almost entirely women and it’s further proof that the only reason women aren’t getting jobs in the industry is because of grumpy old men who are terrified of losing their grip.

The whole cast here is awesome but obviously Margot Robbie takes the cake.…

Cinematic achievement doesn’t even begin to describe this spectacle. A heartbreaking and exhilarating thrill ride.
There truly are parts of this movie that are so overwhelming and it’s because the moments are built up perfectly. The one shot effect does a lot to dictate the pacing but it’s incredibly done and you’re never bored.
Naturally there are some slow moments, but they build into some truly breathtaking scenes that are harrowing and heavy but you can’t help but marvel because…

A piece of filmmaking so powerful can never and will never cease to leave me blown away.
To witness it in IMAX was something else. To see it in IMAX at the freaking Air and Space Museum was even more incredible. This is slowly becoming one of my favorite movies ever. Honestly I’m really jealous of the people who were watching this for the first time. This was a rare opportunity and I’m so glad I jumped on it. Shoutout Elan for getting these tickets.

Had high hopes going in and I was a little disappointed.
I was hoping for another well shot, original horror which would allow Riley Keough to channel her inner scream queen. What I got was a watered down version of this that left me wanting more.
Riley is definitely a bright spot and she kills it. See this for her!

    Wow. Just wow.

This was the only thing I could think throughout this amazing movie. I have never been so blown away by a movie for as long as I can remember. As a film lover, as well as a person with eyes, this movie was just on another level.

From a technical standpoint, there is no better movie than this one. The techniques used to actually make and film this movie are unbelievable. There were certain…

    Ant-Man and the Wasp

After hearing mixed reviews, I went in unsure of how much I'd like this movie, but shame on me for doubting Marvel. This movie was even better than I expected. Not only was it a great sequel, but it also had a lot of new pieces that really worked. The biggest of which was The Wasp who was a complete bad-ass and a great addition to the Avengers.
My favorite part of the Ant Man series is the humor, and…
