All about missed opportunity, longing, and what it means to love someone. This film picks right up with its incredible writing and Julie Delpy just owning this character. What makes them so brilliant is how natural they are together.

The car scene alone is spectacular. All the things they have been holding within. All of the longing touches they wish would connect. This such spectacular acting by Hawke and Delpy. They just feel right together in these roles.

Descent into love crammed into one beautiful day. This film is a collection of conversations about what it means to live, to succeed, and share time with another. The writing was spectacular and allowed for the two leads to have their undeniable chemistry.

20 years later and still a masterpiece. It serves as a capsule for 90s punk era of anti-establishment while grappling with the everlasting questions of existence and believing. Ever time I watch it I pick up something new and I’m glad I got to see it in Dolby Cinema.

It is not the job of a woman to fix broken men, but when love is involved, it can get complicated. This film about a woman finding her voice is masterful filmmaking by Joanna Hogg. Her trademark camera placement and scene structure was a marvel.
