Director: *Hears Gloria by Laura Branigan*
The film suffers from a floaty pace which I feel is a staple of Sebastian Lelio’s films, but that being said, there is a purpose to the pace that works even if I didn’t like it too much. Great acting from Julianne Moore and John Turturro and a surprisingly subtle script that takes this mid-life crisis film into something that is emotional and realistic. Even though it may not be my thing genre wise, the film is slowly growing on me as time goes on, so that is always a plus.
