Where it breaks free of the superhero/Marvel playbook, it's refreshing. Of course, it has to play within a "universe" and that ties the hands of all involved.
Not Black Panther specific but... The theater experience is miserable. No matter the nice new recliner seating, upgraded projectors, screens, and sound systems. When you hire kids to run a business, and those kids could care less about the business, you're doomed. The whole experience is much like air travel. Masses being herded into their seats, with many impatiently checking their mobile devices nonstop until the event is over. Meanwhile, the attendants do their bare minimum to ensure a (just barely) tolerable event. Good luck movie theaters. Even Moviepass won't save you.
