On the technical level, I loved the color grading of the film. Movies these days tend to forget this, but there are actual colors in the world, not just the washed yet dark tones of that damned blue filter.
Stone and Gosling are perfect together, and the rest of the cast was good, too.
That’s all, I think.
On second thought, one more thing: I really love one shots and through the film, I was amazed by the fantastic choreography of the musical and dancing numbers. It’s really refreshing to see people who still know their craft and shoot with intent instead of “fix it in post” in mind.
