    A groundbreaking and lively portrayal of African-American culture, SHE'S GOTTA HAVE IT is a smart, and well crafted piece of independent cinema. I was hyped to see the use of a pseudo-interview format done so effectively, as I am developing an idea with similar structure. The way the characters are introduce in this street interview documentary style treats the main character of Nola Darling as a mythical figure, perhaps representative of a trend strong, independent black women.
