Jeremy Wilson’s review published on Letterboxd :
Have to be honest...I was a little disappointed w/ Warm Bodies. It's not terrible, but it's pretty - actually very - one note. It WANTS to be a lot of different things - cute, funny, scary, dramatic, romantic, but it ends up being just a tiny piece of all those things. Its humor lies in its concept and gets stale very quickly and it drowns in its cuteness, never really eliciting much of a stronger reaction. None of the performances are great (although they're not horrible either), but part of that is the material itself (obviously Hoult and Corddry can only do so much as zombies). Criminal waste of John Malkovich. The action sequences are tepid, brief and uninspired, so any hope of it being more than a simple quirky rom-com (albeit featuring zombies) never materializes. I would guess that zombie purists will hate it. Ultimately, it doesn't even remotely compare to Jonathan Levine's 50/50 and while it was a pleasant enough viewing experience, it left little mark and merits no re-watch value. "Pleasantly cute" gets it to mediocre, but that's about it. It's a romantic comedy that doesn't have nearly enough of either, so that pretty much says it all.
