“One of the greatest things I heard someone say about him is, 'He's so great at doing impersonations. But the greatest impersonation he does is that of a normal person.”

Just like the rest of his work, Armisen's intentions here aren't clear enough to easily evaluate whether or not it works. Was this intended to be a series of sincere dad jokes, an extremely deadpan performance art piece, or a bit of character work that only Armisen thinks is funny? Hard to say for sure. The audience reaction shots—ranging from delight and appreciation to bemusement and bewilderment—don't really clarify things.
