Best chewing scene in cinema, as well as some decent, uh, right-to-left language humor. But kind of implausible that he rises to fame with almost no effort, and that his father embraces him with so little resistance?

I'm still thinking about the intertitle "Like Hamlet, he sealed his fate." Makes me think there are darker undertones here that went totally over my head.

I like the archduchess' character... unable to forgive violations of her aristocracy's social norms despite her best efforts.
