In the Mood for Love – take 2

Perhaps. adverb. Used to express uncertainty or possibility. Synonyms; maybe, possible, perchance.
Up to this point, my most recent interpretation of the WKW Love trilogy was that Days Of Being Wild was the expression of the indecision of youth, In The Mood For Love, the agony and regret in middle age for making the wrong decision, and 2046 the yearning in old age to relive a perfect past. I’m re-thinking that now.
What I noticed, particularly, on this viewing was Nat King Cole’s rendition of Osvaldo Varres Quizas, quizas, quizas; Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps. In Days, perhaps is from the lens of possibilities. At this point, choices are endless. It’s impossible to choose, but, in dipping your toe in the water, the central driving force of a decision must be perhaps, this might work. In the Mood, mistakes have been made. Society’s expectations are that you live with your mistakes. When you discover what might have been the right choice, you can’t help but gravitate to it. Here, it’s temptation. Perhaps I might have another chance. In 2046, perhaps I might be happy if I relive the perfect past.
I now think that they're all about Perhaps.
