    The movie was OK. It didn't stand as a film of its own. I wish that it had. It felt like it was just a follow-up episode to the series finale show. If I had the time or the foresight, I would have watched the series again before watching the film. There were so many plot-points and characters I forgot. Had I done that this might have gotten more stars, or for that matter, maybe fewer?

    Jarmusch tries to make what we've seen profound at the end but fails. He's still a favorite filmmaker of mine, but check out the excellent The Only Lovers Left Alive if you want to see him attempt a "monster movie."

    I have very complicated feelings about this film. One moment I was ready to give it five stars, then, in the next moment I wanted to give it one.

    I could wax poetic about all the interesting references and commentaries on old Hollywood that he adeptly depicts in this film, but I feel like I would just be lifting lines from the many, many reviews I read about this film before I came here to write about it.
